Ever since I found out about this blue light therapy device which is sold as part of a 3-step acne skincare solution from Positively Clear (a branch of Tria Beauty), I became a little obsessed. I did some reasearch (okay, a lot) and what I found was promising, so I went ahead and ordered it. Here is my full, in-depth, review on this product after using it for 8 weeks consistently. If you have acne and you're desperate (like me) to get rid of it, read this review! It's quite long, so grab some popcorn (or just skip to the parts you're interested in)!
I first heard of this mask from an Instagram post by @thenorthernpretty (aka Bonnie). She saw a shopper with about a dozen of these in their cart and asked someone about it. An employee at Sephora described the benefits of this mask and she was sold. I trust Bonnie's opinion and she said she loved this mask and would recommend it to others. Therefore...I needed this mask and luckily received it as a gift!
If you love anything HYDRATING you'll love this mask, so read my review by clicking "Read More" below. I'm back with another review! If you missed my last review on the Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation, please check it out HERE.
More on topic, I've had the Huda Beauty Rose Gold Palette for about two months now, and I know this review is late but I still wanted to share my honest thoughts on this product. If you're looking into buying it, definitely keep reading! Hi everyone!
I'm back and I have a ton of blog post ideas to put into reality for you guys and I can't wait! Today I am reviewing and sharing my thoughts on Milani's Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation. I've been using this foundation consistently for at least 3 weeks now, so if you're interested in hearing more about this foundation, keep reading! Hi everyone, I've been away for what feels like forever! School keeps me so incredibly busy it is difficult to get in a good quality blog post. I have remained active on Instagram though, so if you don't follow me on there you really should! It's @themakeupdiaryblog.
Onto the actual blog post! I received the Urban Decay Electric Palette as a destashing gift from my sister and I've wanted it for awhile but couldn't justify the price - it's $59 (CAD) and the colors are so vivid and bright I probably would only use them occasionally. I have to say though, it's a very good palette. It's very pigmented and most of the colors are matte. I personally find it very challenging to find very pigmented matte eyeshadows, so this palette is a jewel to me. I'll be going over the palette, my overall thoughts on it and then do some arm swatches and end by showing a few different looks you can do with this palette to give you some inspiration. If you could use some color in your life, you need to keep reading ☺ Eek! I've been so bad and haven't posted at all in February (how dare I!) but I'm back now and hopefully will have some posts each month. If you have anything you'd like to see in particular just hit me up on instagram (@themakeupdiaryblog) or email me ([email protected]) to let me know.
I actually started my blog last year just before St. Patrick's Day...so it looks like its been a full year since I started this blog and my instagram! Wow, time really does fly by! I'm so happy that I've been able to keep updating this blog with new content and I'm looking forward to the next year ahead on this blog. I hope you'll join me on my journey. This is the look I came up with for St. Patrick's Day, and if you're interested in learning how to recreate it please keep reading! I'm an absolute sucker for neutrals but after awhile, it seems like I'm always creating the same signature looks. I would like to start to work with color more, since I have so much of it. So here is a look that is very girly and fun. If you'd like to see how to recreate this look with what you have at home, keep reading!
Hi everyone! I'm back with another review! If you know me at all, you know I LOVE highlighting and anything that makes me look glowy/dewey and lit. I have a few favorite highlighters, but they are all powders. I saw these in Walmart and was instantly intrigued, I had to try them. I've also read about them being dupes for Benefit's High Beam and Sun Beam. I couldn't find many in depth reviews on these so here is mine! I really like this product, and if you keep reading you'll see why.
A lot of buzz is going around the makeup community about the Nivea for Men After (or Post) Shave Balm for Sensitive Skin. I believe Nikkie Tutorials on Youtube first talked about it and from then on, everyone seems to be trying it. Including me! Because this is supposed to act as a primer, I used it for about a week, and really tested it out - experiment style. Keep reading to see what I discovered!
Hi everyone! Tonight's New Years Eve and if you're looking to go out tonight, or to a friends house to celebrate, well you'll likely want some glam makeup to help you celebrate. I've created this cut crease look with just a hint of glitter that everyone will love. I know a lot of people would love to bathe themselves in glitter tonight, but I also know a lot of people don't like to use glitter, so here's my compromise. I kept the look quite neutral and added a hint of glitter, if you'd like more go for it, if you don't want it don't add it. But If there was ever a night to cut your crease, it's tonight. Keep reading to see a complete step by step pictorial and all the products and brushes I used.
I love using masks and I've heard everyone and their mom rave about the Glam Glow face masks sold at Sephora for $70 each. That's a really steep price and I've heard that this mask does something similar in terms of detoxifying and cleaning, so I decided to try this out instead. I've used it at least six to seven times now, so I'd like to share my first impressions of this mask and an overall review. If you're looking into buying this, definitely keep reading!
Hi everyone! I'm back again with another holiday makeup look for you all! Holiday makeup wouldn't be complete without a classic red lip look. I kept the eyes simple and sultry and the lips bold and classic. I hope you love it! If you want to check out my other holiday makeup looks, you can find them HERE and HERE. Check instagram @themakeupdiaryblog to see a video of how I created this look.
On Cyber Monday I took advantage of the 20% off sitewide deal that ColourPop Cosmetics was having and grabbed some ultra matte lip shades I was eyeing as well as one of their highlighters. I love all the colors that I got, and I can't wait to properly try out the highlighter. If you've been eyeing some of the same products, keep reading to see how they swatch! I have done a whole post to review the Ultra Matte Lip products, if you'd like to read that you can find it HERE.
This is my second special holiday look (and I LOVE it!); if you want to check out my first you can do so HERE. This look is just so gorgeous, I know you'll love it too. If you want to see how I created this look, definitely check out my instagram @themakeupdiaryblog for a video on the steps.

Looxi Beauty (@looxi_beauty on instagram) is a new makeup company (it's also cruelty free) that started this past June. They have been in business for less than 6 months and are already doing so well. It's run by a lady named Jessica and let me tell you, she is so hard working! The company has been continuously introducing new products and new shades, and they have some pretty unique stuff. For example, in the upcoming month they will be releasing a permanent collection of duochrome eyeshadows (called the 'Auroras'), and duchrome highlights. They already have such unique colours in highlighters, so this will be such a cool addition. Did I mention everything is super affordable?? Each of their eyeshadows is $5, and highlighters is $15. They also have these cool products called 'Kickers' which are basically liquid highlighters that match their powder counterpart. You can get a highlighter and matching kicker for only $15 as well. Steal! I ordered a few of their products to test them out and I'd like to take this chance to review them. If you'd like to see what I think, keep reading!
The holidays are right around the corner, and if you're reading this, it probably means that you're looking for a gift for someone (who may or may not be a beauty lover) in your life. Maybe you already know a lot about makeup, maybe you have no clue. Either way this guide should help everyone who's shopping for makeup and beauty items! I'll have options from drugstore to high end, so no matter your budget there will be something for you!
I know, I know. I'm late on the band wagon. Champagne Pop is a highlighter BECCA and Jaclyn Hill created together. It released months ago and is limited edition. As I said, late on the band wagon. But I'm SO glad I finally got on. If you don't already have this highlighter, let me tell you why you absolutely NEED this NOW. But first, feel free to drool over the following photos:
