I'm back and I have a ton of blog post ideas to put into reality for you guys and I can't wait! Today I am reviewing and sharing my thoughts on Milani's Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation. I've been using this foundation consistently for at least 3 weeks now, so if you're interested in hearing more about this foundation, keep reading!
Price
This foundation is refreshingly inexpensive. I bought mine at Rexall for $12.99. It comes in a standard 1 fl oz/ 30 ml bottle.
Packaging
The aesthetics on the foundation bottle are on point. It's really quite pretty with a black faded ombre look. The bottle is made of glass and feels quite sturdy. The cap is plastic and therefore not the best quality, I treat my bottle well and I don't drop it but somehow I managed to have a small crack emerge in the cap (with the possibility of spreading? who knows). The foundation bottle also comes with a pump, HALLELUJAH! It even, in a small stroke of brilliance, has an imprint on the top of the pump so that your finger just naturally fits right into it.
Shade Selection
Milani had about 12 different shades in stores when I bought it, bought on their website they have 15. It seems like if your skin tone is at an extreme (extremely pale or dark), this probably isn't the foundation for you as the selection isn't very extensive in that department.
Like all drugstore foundations, its hard to find the shade that matches you best, but you try your best anyways! I got mine in the shade 05 Warm Beige and I like it. Some people have said that the foundation oxidizes, which I have not experienced so perhaps it's certain shades. When in doubt, go lighter because you can bronze/darken with powders afterward!
Consistency + Application + Finish
The consistency of this foundation is thicker than most other liquid foundations I've tried. If I put a pump on the back of my hand, it does not run at all. Because of this, I found it difficult to find what way I liked to apply it best. I've tried it with both a beauty blending and different kinds of brushes, including a kabuki foundation brush. My favourite way to apply this foundation was to pump on the back of my hand, pick up with the Sephora Airbrush #55 foundation brush which has long bristles and is soft and sort of fluffy. I felt that it blended out the product easily on my face. After I finished, I could go over my face with a beauty blender to make everything smoother and pick up excess product.
Also, because the consistency was thicker, I found that while I usually use only a pump of foundation, I routinely would need 1.5 to 2 pumps of this foundation to cover my face once and to blend down my neck.
The finish of this foundation is demi-matte I'd say, you can use powder to make it completely matte. If you have dry skin, it will cling onto any patches you may have so make sure to exfoliate and moisturize properly. If you have oily skin, this foundation is NOT for you. I am not an oily person, but over the course of the day I do produce some oil by my nose and I can see it come through. Because it's not a lot, it just adds to a shine on my face, but if you are a truly oily person, and don't want to be touching up all day, I wouldn't recommend this.

Claims + Thoughts
Milani claims that this foundation:
I would agree that this foundation has medium to full coverage, on me I think the coverage is medium. It doesn't entirely cover my imperfections (I have a lot, ranging from dark under eyes and dark spots from acne to current pimples and redness). I prefer to wear concealer and corrector underneath when I wear this foundation. If you don't have a lot of imperfections, you will NOT need to do that, the coverage on this foundation will be enough for you. It is lightweight and it is long wearing in that I can wear it for up to 8 hours. HOWEVER, the foundation does come off when I rub my face a bit EVEN AFTER setting with powder and setting spray. It does seem water-resistant to a reasonable degree (aka you're not diving off the deep end with it on - however, I've never tested it in that way).
Overall Thoughts
I do like this foundation, I am impressed with the product for the price, and I think that if you have normal skin type, this would be beautiful on you. It's really nice to see that you can find a true medium to full coverage foundation at the drugstore, so it might not be an everyday foundation for a lot of you, but for me I do use it everyday (when I wear makeup) because I want to conceal the discolourations on my face.
I hope you enjoyed this post, found it informative, helpful and inspiring. If you have any suggestions for more blog posts, hit me up on instagram @themakeupdiary
Until next time beauties,
