Hi everyone, I've been away for what feels like forever! School keeps me so incredibly busy it is difficult to get in a good quality blog post. I have remained active on Instagram though, so if you don't follow me on there you really should! It's @themakeupdiaryblog.
Onto the actual blog post! I received the Urban Decay Electric Palette as a destashing gift from my sister and I've wanted it for awhile but couldn't justify the price - it's $59 (CAD) and the colors are so vivid and bright I probably would only use them occasionally. I have to say though, it's a very good palette. It's very pigmented and most of the colors are matte. I personally find it very challenging to find very pigmented matte eyeshadows, so this palette is a jewel to me. I'll be going over the palette, my overall thoughts on it and then do some arm swatches and end by showing a few different looks you can do with this palette to give you some inspiration. If you could use some color in your life, you need to keep reading ☺

The Electric Palette is sold at Sephora for $59 and comes with 10 pressed pigments and 1 double ended eye brush.
Revolt - a silver white with plenty of sparkle in it. This faded away the quickest and was the least pigmented in the palette.
Gonzo - a bright medium blue (sorry I'm bad at describing colors). Very pigmented.
Slowburn - a medium orange, again very pigmented.
Savage - bright pink, so pigmented that the texture is dry, especially compared to the other colors.
Fringe - deeper blue than Gonzo, with metallic sparkle

Chaos - A very buttery pigmented blue jean type of blue. Looks darker in the pan.
Jilted - A berry purple with shimmer.
Urban - Deep purple with a hint of shimmer.
Freak - Pale green with a sheen finish.
Thrash - A sort of matte lime yellow.
Overall, I really like this palette. The pigmentation makes it SO easy to do eye looks, I always struggle with getting the pigmentation in my eye looks up to my standards. Plus it has a good variety of colors, no one says you have to use them all in a look. Even if you just use one as a focus in your eye look, I think its worth it. It is pricey though, so I wouldn't spend money you don't have on it!
If you do have it or are planning on buying it soon, here are some looks I've done with the palette. Hopefully they give you some inspiration.

Look 1
This look is very pretty, very springy and bold. If you're a neutrals girl, like me, that is. I did use other colors in this look, such as a darker pink (Makeupgeek Bitten eyeshadwo) in the outer V. In case you're wondering, the lashes are Koko Lashes in Goddess and I HIGHLY recommend them. They are a dupe for the infamous House of Lashes Iconic, but at a fraction of the price.
Look 2
Look 2
This look is deeper and more sultry than the first. I used Gonzo as my main color but I actually found it difficult to blend properly so I had to use another blue eyeshadow (Morphebrushes I Got The Blues) right on top of Gonzo to help with blending, even though it's still not perfect. The lashes I'm wearing are by Red Cherry and are the style 117.
Look 3
This look is the most neutral of all three and the best way to start dipping your toes into using color. I think it's perfect when the color worn on the lower lashline in this look matches the dress/shirt you're wearing. The lashes I'm wearing here are Red Cherry lashes in 117.
I hope you enjoyed this post, found it informative, helpful and inspiring.
Until next time beauties,
