Well well well, look at me go, posting twice in two days. I suppose you'll just have to get used to more frequent posts now that it's spring/summer! Now onto this day time glam look! It really looked very beautiful and very done up indeed. The whole look was created using the NYX Wicked Dreams Palette which is only $15, so keep reading to see how I achieved this look!

When I first did research on the NYX Prismatic Eyeshadows I knew for sure I had to have the shade fireball. First off, that name is phenomenal and second that color is to die for! To my horror I dropped the only one left in the store, it looked fine when I bought it but when I took it home I realized it had shattered the shadow. I was quite honestly, deeply upset by it. I decided to try to repair it using alcohol and it was my first time doing so. I added in a few drops, swirled around the shadow and then pressed it down with a coin to get it as smooth as I could, then I let it dry overnight. And honestly, I think that made the eyeshadow even better. I think the pigment is the best on this shadow than the other prismatic eyeshadows I own! So yay for fixing what's broken instead of just throwing it away!
This is the eye look I came up with, so keep reading to see how I achieved it. I've heard a lot of good things about the NYC Liquid Eyeliner from all over the place. I've seen it being using in Youtube tutorials by people like Desi Perkins, who does her liner with gel and a brush and then goes back with this liquid liner to darken it and make the line more sharp. That's what I want. A line so sharp it cuts. I already had the NYC liquid liner sitting around (bought it one time because I couldn't find the Maybelline stilletto liner in stores and it was cheap) but I didn't quite like the brush. I decided to go shopping because I thought I had gotten a defective one. So I went to Shoppers Drug Mart (don't buy them there, they are cheaper at Walmart) and picked one up. The only shade available was Pearlized Black which is the shade I had already so I thought maybe they only sell this one shade for this liner. I also found a felt tip high definition liner from NYC so I bought that too and decided to test them out. I don't like them. Either of them. And I'll tell you why.
I've seen so many dark black smokey eyes on Instagram that I just had to try it out for myself. I felt sort of vampy when I was swatching the LA Girl Glazed Lip Paint in Daring, so I tried this right after. The steps are fairly simple, I just took a matte black eyeshadow (Coal from Morphebrushes) and patted it on my lid until I got the intensity that I wanted. To blend this out I then took a mixture of Bitten from Makeupgeek cosmetics and Rosewood by Morphebrushes and put this in the crease to soften the edges of the black. Once I was satisfied I put that combo on my lower lash line. Then I took a flat liner brush and carefully using the matte black eyeshadow placed this along my lower lash line in a tight line. I highlighted my inner corner and browbone with the higlighter in the Walking on Eggshells palette by Wet N' Wild, added mascara and I was done! Unfortunately the camera picks it up as more brown than purple, but I swear it was purple in real life! Okay I'm done now.
I am one happy girl! I absolutely love shopping online for makeup because of the convenience, the options and having something delivered to you (even if it's from you) makes any day feel like Christmas. I placed on order on the Morphebrushes website on April 1st, and about two weeks later I received it.
I ordered the following single eyeshadows:
I also got the following LA Girl Glazed Lip Paints:
I've placed an order with the company once before and I ordered a Z palette (to place the eyeshadows in since they are single eyeshadows and come magnetized) and a couple of basic neutral colors like black, white and silver. This time I really wanted to get some color since everyone raves about their shadows. However the addition of names to the eyeshadows is new and without thinking I accidentally bought ES15 Caramelized even though I already own that shade! Oh well, for only $2 a pop I'm not too disappointed in myself and will probably be giving it away. That is the question. Sometimes I feel that an eye look is gorgeous enough as is that liner and false lashes will take away from the beauty of the work. Also I'm lazy. And sometimes I just like to skip liner :)
For this look, I used my new MAC palette - Burgundy x9. Steps to achieve the look are listed below. New day, new look. I love my neutrals so I went for a light glam look using my NYX Wicked Dreams palette. Steps to achieve the look are below.
I'm not really a huge fan of using pastels on my eyes, so I thought I would create a nice light eye look that would be great for day time or night time use as we transition into the spring time here. I created the look quite quickly and easily so if you would like to find out how to recreate it, please keep reading!
April is finally here which means that my month of no-buy in March is over! I've had my eye on a lot of goodies for the entire month, and I will do a post on my wishlist very soon. I placed an order with morphebrushes the other day, and I went to the drugstore today to buy some makeup.
